Release Notes
Highlights from recent ProxyBox releases. Your device’s current software version is shown in the admin UI and updates automatically over the air.
August 17, 2026 — Device 1.0.85
Section titled “August 17, 2026 — Device 1.0.85”One unified printer list
Section titled “One unified printer list”All printers now appear in a single list, regardless of how they were discovered or how they connect (network, USB, or driverless IPP). Duplicate entries for the same physical printer are merged automatically, and managed print queues are no longer shown as a separate section — every printer is managed from one place on the Printers page.
Drag-and-drop printing
Section titled “Drag-and-drop printing”You can now print a file straight from the admin UI: drag it onto a printer on the Printers page, confirm, and it prints. The UI checks that the file type is compatible with the printer before sending and reports success or failure for each job.
More reliable printing pipeline
Section titled “More reliable printing pipeline”Print jobs for driver-managed printers are now submitted and tracked through a direct connection to the on-device print system instead of command-line tools. Job submission is faster, and job status reporting is more accurate — including clearer error reporting when a printer is unreachable.
Accurate device clock on restricted networks
Section titled “Accurate device clock on restricted networks”ProxyBox devices now keep accurate time even on locked-down networks:
- Time servers provided by your DHCP server are now used automatically, so sites with an on-premises time server work without configuration.
- On networks that block NTP entirely, the device falls back to setting its clock over HTTPS within about two minutes of boot.
- Clock health is reported to the cloud, so unsynchronized devices are visible and alerted on before they cause certificate or timestamp issues.
API key and password management
Section titled “API key and password management”The Settings page now includes full credentials management:
- Create, rename, enable/disable, and delete named API keys, and choose whether the printing API requires a key.
- Change the admin password directly from the UI.
- A recovery code (compatible with authenticator apps) lets you sign back in if you forget the admin password.
See Settings for details.
